RECENTLY, THERE HAS BEEN INORDINATE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF TRADE DISPUTES BETWEEN INDIAN COMPANIES AND SOUTH AFRICAN COMPANIES, WHERE PAYMENTS ARE NOT BEING MADE BY THE IMPORTING COMPANY IN SOUTH AFRICA. THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE & INDUSTRY, GOVERNMENT OF SOUTH AFRICA IS NOT LEGALLY MANDATED TO TAKE ANY ACTION AGAINST ANY COMPANY IN THIS COUNTRY AND IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO RECOVER THE PAYMENT FROM THE DEFAULTERS. THIS IS TO ADVISE ALL EXPORTERS FROM INDIA TO ENTER INTO A LEGAL CONTRACT BEFORE EXPORTING GOODS AND DO SO ‘ONLY’ AND ‘ONLY’ AGAINST LC AND SIMPLY NOT AGAINST PURCHASE ORDER(PO).
The Consulate encourages trade queries through e-mail. All queries should be sent to the following e-mail address:
Mr. Anuj Kumar Gupta, Commercial Representative , Email : firstname.lastname@example.org
For Indian trade queries, the Consulate can assist in compilation of business contacts/agencies/list of traders in South Africa and send this list including phone, fax, and email details.
The Consulate assists Indian export organizations/ agencies to organize business delegations to South Africa. If complete information about the members of the delegation along with their profiles and business interests are made available well in time (3-4 weeks), the Consulate could arrange business interactions with relevant companies and organizations in South Africa
